Privacy Policy — Beginners Sponsorship Guide

This app (“Beginners Sponsorship Guide”) is a free, community-service tool that digitizes the paper AA Beginners Sponsorship Guide by Bobby and allows a sponsor and a sponsee to share Step 4 work with each other. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What we collect

When you install the app we generate a random device identifier (a UUID) and store it on your device. On first launch the app creates a minimal account containing:

• That device identifier
• The display name you choose
• The date the account was created

We do not collect:

• Email addresses
• Phone numbers
• Real names (unless you choose them as your display name)
• Location data
• Contacts
• Analytics or crash telemetry beyond what your phone’s OS may collect

What you write

The inventory content you type into the Resentment Inventory, Fear Inventory, and Sex Conduct Inventory is stored:

1. On your device (in secure app storage).
2. On our server (PostgreSQL on Railway) so it can sync across your devices and be shared with a sponsor if you choose.

Content you type is private by default. It becomes visible to a sponsor only when you tap the “Share” button on that specific inventory.

Sharing

When you tap Share, a snapshot of that inventory becomes readable by the sponsor(s) you are paired with. They see only what you share. They cannot edit your inventory. You can re-share updates any time, or unpair to immediately revoke access.

Pairing

A “pair” is a connection between a sponsor and a sponsee. Pairs are created when one person generates a 6-character code and the other person enters it within 15 minutes. No email is exchanged. No passwords are used.

How long we keep data

Your account and inventory content are kept until you delete them. You can delete your entire account at any time from Settings → Delete my account. This immediately removes your device identifier, display name, inventories, pairs, and progress markers from our servers.

Security

• All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS (TLS).
• The server runs on Railway’s managed infrastructure; the database is PostgreSQL with disk-level encryption provided by Railway.
• We do not use any third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

We do not use end-to-end encryption. In principle an administrator of the server infrastructure could view stored content. We strongly recommend not writing anything into the app that you would not write on paper.

Third parties

The app does not share your data with any third party. The server infrastructure (Railway, their hosting providers) is used solely to store and serve your content back to you and your paired partner.

Children

This app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Your rights

You can:

• Edit your display name at any time (Settings → Your Name).
• Unpair with any partner (Settings → Your Pairs → Unpair).
• Delete any individual inventory or any entry within an inventory.
• Delete your entire account and all associated data at any time (Settings → Delete my account).

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will post the new version here and update the “Effective date” above. If you’re paired with someone and the change impacts how shared inventories work, the app will show you the change next time you open it.
